The CFS Research Foundation has always relied on volunteers to help run the charity.  This keeps our costs down and ensures that as much money as possible is earmarked for research.  It also means that lots of people can get involved and support the organisation.  We have a very small staff and the volunteers work with the staff in large number of ways such as filing or sending out information and appeals.  We are always looking for people with special skills who can help us.  Our office is a friendly place and anyone who would like to help would be very welcome.  Avril is one of our regular volunteers who comes to our office in Hertfordshire.  She works with our Administrator, Fiona, to keep our fundraising records up to date.  We can be incredibly busy at certain times of the year such as before Christmas or after an appeal has been sent out as we get a large number of donations which need to be recorded, banked, people thanked and the information filed.  Avril's help is invaluable to us.  Yours could be too.

Volunteers throughout the country who organise special events are always an inspiration.  Not only do they raise much needed funds but they inform the public of the devastating effects of the illness and help to convince the unbelievers of the need for research.
