The Foundation is currently funding a research programme led by scientists at Bart's and the London Medical School, Imperial College and Imanova into CFS and pain.  We need to raise over £230,000 to complete the cost of this three year study. Please help us by making a donation or supporting us through Give as you Live

NOTICE

The Trustees of the CFS Research Foundation have come to the decision that it is not possible for the Foundation to continue operating without the voluntary guidance of either Hugh or Anne Faulkner, its original founders.  It is felt that the Foundation has fulfilled its role by the impetus it has given to research and recognition of the disease over the last twenty-one years.  It is also felt that with the UK CFS/ME Research Collaborative now in place the leadership and focus into research and funding in the future will be undertaken by them, and to a certain extent the Medical Research Council (MRC).

Action for M.E. has agreed to take over the contract for Professor Peter White’s three year study into chronic pain in CFS/ME sufferers which is being funded in full with monies from the Foundation.  They are also launching the ‘Faulkner Award’ in recognition of Anne and Hugh Faulkner’s work, which is an accolade they intend to present to high quality and exciting research projects that hold potential benefit to people with CFS/ME.

Action for M.E. was formed over 25 years ago.  Their vision is a world without M.E. and their mission is empowering people with M.E. to fulfil their potential and secure the care and support they need, while working towards a greater understanding of the illness and ultimately a cure.

The Foundation will be closed from 30th June 2014 and all future enquiries should be made to Action for M.E.

Maximum Funds go to Research

The CFS Research Foundation is anxious that the maximum amount of donated money goes towards research so it employs a very small paid staff while approximately a third of its work is carried out by highly skilled unpaid workers.  Its accommodation is rent and rates free.   This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. If you would like to raise money to support research funded by the Foundation why not build your own Fundraising Page at Everyclick.  We use Everyclick because they charge the lowest commission so more of the money you raise goes to research.

Support CFS/ME Research

Research needs substantial sums of money to enable it to go forward.  There are many ways you can add your support.  You can send us a cheque or make a donation online.  We have a leaflet, which we will be happy to send you, which gives some ideas how you can help raise funds. These ideas, some of which came from our supporters, show how you can raise funds even if you are bedbound or able only to undertake simple events.  For the recovered or family members or carers there are more ambitious projects.

We receive no funding from Government and are entirely reliant on individuals or charitable trusts.  Thousands of stores will donate to us when you shop online via Give as you Live.  Or why not volunteer - we are always looking for people who can help us out.  So, if you think you could run a marathon, make some cakes or get your company to support us we would be delighted to hear from you.  Please This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
